Banner Rotation Application
The above banner is pulled randomly from a list, with its impression recorded to a file. Clicking on the banner records the clickthrough, and opens a new browser window for the target URL. Refreshing the page serves a new instance of a banner, allowing for any banner to repeat.
The banner is served through AJAX, making it independent from page type, and allowing for an ad server situation. In a full ColdFusion environment, the banner code could be integrated through a cfinclude, custom tag, or CFC.
Information is recorded to files for easy import/export to and from Excel. Depending on the situation and enviroment, this information could reside in a database for further manipulation and metrics.
